This summer, ESI had the privilege of collaborating with Freedom250 to produce the inaugural Patriot Games, a national athletic competition bringing together some of the nation’s most talented high school athletes for a week of competition, camaraderie, and celebration.
Hosted at Spire Academy in Ohio, the Patriot Games brought together outstanding student-athletes from every state and U.S. territory to compete for a share of a $250,000 scholarship prize pool. More than just an athletic competition, the event was designed to recognize the character, discipline, determination, and leadership that define the next generation of American champions.
Competition Built to Test Every Athlete
The Patriot Games featured a diverse series of challenges designed to test competitors across strength, endurance, agility, teamwork, and perseverance. Athletes faced the Presidential Fitness Test, a military-inspired boot camp circuit, and a demanding obstacle course, putting both individual performance and mental toughness to the test.
Team competitions brought another level of energy to the games, with events including Kickball, Dodgeball, Tug of War, and Victory Hoops. Each competition gave athletes the opportunity to compete alongside their peers while demonstrating the teamwork and determination that made the Patriot Games unique.
Behind the competition was an equally ambitious production. ESI helped bring the Patriot Games environment to life with a full Presidential box, dedicated press risers, and an American Ninja Warrior-caliber obstacle course built specifically for the event. Every element of the build was designed to support the scale and energy of the competition while creating an environment worthy of a national championship.
More Than a Competition
Producing an event like the Patriot Games requires more than building a stage or setting up a competition field. It requires careful coordination across production, logistics, operations, and event management to ensure that every element—from athlete arrivals to competition transitions to the final celebrations—comes together seamlessly.
For ESI, the Patriot Games was an opportunity to bring our experience in large-scale event production to a completely new environment. The result was an event that combined the excitement of high-level athletic competition with the energy and spectacle of a national celebration.
